London Fire Brigade has issued a warning about fire safety after a blaze at a shop with flats above in Coulsdon.
The brigade was called to Brighton Road just after 4:30 yesterday afternoon. The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by the unsafe disposal of smoking materials. Half of the roof of the building was damaged by fire and three people left the property uninjured.
