Madrid pays tribute to Mario Tascón, the Bercian who invented digital journalism in Spain. The Ponferrada native, founder of elmundo.es, died suddenly in Buenos Aires in 2023 at the age of 60. The Madrid City Council wanted to recognize his journalistic work by placing a plaque with his name in El Retiro.
