Suspect of stabbing woman in Den Dolder to Pieter Baan Center, Mert P. himself not in court

The 28-year-old man who allegedly stabbed a 76-year-old woman in Den Dolder earlier this year during a stay in a psychiatric clinic, is suspected of murder or manslaughter. Additional police surveillance and better lighting should ensure that residents feel safer.

The man who stabbed a 76-year-old woman to death in Den Dolder on January 2 will be sent to the Pieter Baan Center (PBC) for observation.

The 28-year-old Mert P. who stabbed a 76-year-old woman to death in Den Dolder on January 2 out of nowhere, will go to the Pieter Baan Center in August for an examination of his mental faculties. This became clear on Monday during an ultra-short preliminary hearing in the criminal case in the court in Utrecht.
