VW-Chef challenges Aus for new combustion cars in 2035

The European Commission has recently proposed to the European car manufacturers that the exhaust regulations should be relaxed. VW CEO Blume praises Brussels' drive and is already thinking about a further approach to the authority.

In fact, from 2035 onwards, combustion engines will no longer be registered in the EU. However, for VW, this creates problems, which is why the Chairman of the Board is now calling for a review of the target. In addition, more political support and, in particular, "a binding promotion of e-mobility" is needed.

When it comes to VW CEO Oliver Blume, the date for the EU burner ban is not carved in stone. "Test points" and "flexible transition periods" are needed.
