MOL AGM approves massive dividend payout, equating to 9% dividend yield

Hungary’s MOL has announced plans for a HUF220.4bn (€560mn) dividend payout for 2025, as the oil and gas giant seeks to maintain shareholder returns despite earnings cooling from their 2022 peak.

The Board of Directors recommended a basic dividend of 165 forints (HUF) per share and an extraordinary dividend of 110 HUF, bringing the total to 275 HUF.

The university trustee of Mol CEO Zsolt Hernádi also received exactly this much, so it's very fair.

Investors and analysts were surprised by the high dividend payment proposed by the MOL board of directors, which resulted in a large increase in the share price.
