Nearly half of Puerto Rico’s population was still without electricity on Thursday, according to the main utility company, as a result of the large blackout suffered since Wednesday on the Caribbean island. By midday Thursday, 56.3% (826,572 customers) had recovered electricity in this U.S. territory, she said.
