New class of bioadhesives for permanent medical implants

Some scientists work on a new type of adhesive materials suitable for living tissues. These adhesive materials are based on a combination of hydrogels with polymers that behave like glues and allow to connect, in a safe and durable way, human tissues to therapeutic devices implanted in the body, such as pacemakers, insulin pumps and artificial joints.
