Utrecht wants to ban old diesel machines from construction sites

The government is strengthening the municipalities' toolbox in climate work. Municipalities that wish to do so can now set requirements for both public and private construction and civil engineering activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Old diesel machines on construction sites in Utrecht must be removed after the summer. The municipality has decided to impose requirements on the engines of mobile equipment when applying for a permit. The municipality wants to make customized agreements for projects that are already underway.
