The newspapers La Directa and El Salto have reported on twelve police officers who have infiltrated various groups in the Spanish State since 2002. The latest case to be made public is that of a Spanish police officer using the false name Nieves López. According to El Salto, he spent around six months between 2023-24 infiltrating the Madrid-based environmental movements Rebelión o Extinción (XR) and Fridays for Future.
