For the first time: A center honoring the legacy of Jewish heroism who saved Jews in the Holocaust

Celebrating Heroism of Jewish Rescuers During Holocaust with Freed Hostage Luis Har and Ambassadors of U.S. and Hungary - B’nai B’rith International

On Yom HaShoah, B’nai B’rith World Center-Jerusalem and KKL-JNF honored the heroism of 14 Jews who rescued fellow Jews during the Holocaust.

Paradox: While the Righteous Among the Nations, who are not Jews and who worked to save Jews, receive institutional recognition, commemoration, and even legal relief, Jews who acted in a similar manner and risked their lives to save their brothers have not received any recognition to this day, and their testimonies and stories are unknown to the public in Israel and the Jewish world.

We have become so accustomed to hearing the stories of the Righteous Among the Nations who helped save Jews, but we have hardly heard the story of the Jewish rescuers. There is an assumption that this is self-evident. But a reality check proves otherwise.
