ÖRR-Reform: Chiefs of the stations block everything

ZDF's director Norbert Himmler sees public service broadcasting in Europe as threatened. He must be protected as a sensitive infrastructure. Unfortunately, the directors themselves do nothing to ensure that this structure is preserved.

Number of days: All 16 prime ministers in Germany have signed the reform-state-contract for the ÖRR, reports the media. According to this, the contract is on schedule. It is scheduled to enter into force on 1 December – the 16 state-states-parliaments have to agree before that. It is also uncertain whether the new fixed-rate model for the broadcasting-contribution, which was also adopted last year, will come into effect. media.epd.de (€)
