In one month - on 23 March - 805.173 people in 284 municipalities in Styria can join the ballot boxes in order to elect a new municipal council. Graz only votes in September 2026. At the turn of the year 2020, the ÖVP was able to increase by about 4.5 percentage points compared to 2015 and came to 47.2 percent of the total vote share. In one month - on March 23rd - 805,173 people in 284 municipalities in Styria can go to the polls to elect a new local council. Graz will not vote until September 2026. This time, no party is running across the board. The number one mayoral party is the ÖVP, which has 199 local leaders, followed by the SPÖ with 73. The FPÖ has not had a male or female mayor since 2020.
