The 2025 Deltopia Clean Up Day is set for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, April 6; spearheaded by the Isla Vista Recreation and Park District (IVRPD) partnered with Isla Vista Community Services District, and UCSB Environmental Affairs Board (EAB) to maximize volunteer turn out. Mole Valley District Council has launched a campaign to motivate residents to help keep the area clean.
The Be Proud campaign urges people to report issues including overflowing bins, dog mess and litter. Fronted by mascot, Merlin the "Eco" Mole, Be Proud also aims to educate people on how to adhere to the Countryside Code. Residents are being encouraged to consider litter picking by borrowing free equipment.
