Finnish pension funds among top performers in global investment ranking

Finnish pension funds delivered strong investment results in 2024, ranking among the most successful in an international comparison compiled by the Finnish Centre for Pensions. The study covered 24 major pension investors from nine countries. Average real returns exceeded long-term figures, with nominal returns averaging 9.5 percent and real returns reaching 8 percent across all participants.

New international comparative data has been obtained on the investment of pension assets. Norwegian giant SPU beat Finnish operators, but Finnish pension assets have not been badly managed either. The number one long-term investment company in Finland is a lesser-known pension fund that does not boast much about successfully managing the pension security of approximately 15,000 Finns.

The Swedes clearly lagged behind Finnish investors.
