Police say fatal hit and run on Haida Gwaii was targeted

A 32-year-old man from Skidegate has been arrested for a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred on April 22, as stated by the North District Major Crimes Unit.
The Skidegate Band Council imposed a curfew in response to the incident from 10 p.m. On April 22 until 6 a.m. The next day.
Sgt. Chris Manseau from the Daajing Giids RCMP confirmed that the collision was investigated as a targeted attack and that there was no greater community risk.
The Council of the Haida Nation reassured the community that the deceased's family supports the RCMP's investigation and regularly communicates with them.
