Lithuania, Poland enhance military infrastructure to secure Suwałki Gap land corridor - EUROPE SAYS

Lithuania intends to modernize and strengthen the second strategic route through the Suval Corridor — a critical section on the border with Poland, considered one of the most likely destinations for a potential Russian attack on the European Union and NATO.

President Gitanas Nauseda, who met with members of the US Congress on Friday, thanked the US Congress for its strong and consistent support for Lithuania, stressing that the presence of US troops in the country remains a key factor in ensuring the security of Lithuania and the entire region.

Lithuania is working to improve a road and renovate eight bridges leading to the Polish city of Augustów. The work is expected to be completed by 2028. The aim is to ensure better logistics in times of crisis.
