Prairie and savanna prescribed fires can be good trouble if they are carefully timed and controlled. Their purpose is to help keep prairies as grasslands and prevent or at least slow succession toward more forested habitats.
Sauk City Fire extinguishes out of control prescribed burn
By Joe Block At 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 12th, Sauk City Fire was dispatched along with Sauk Prairie Ambulance and Spring Green DNR to a property on Kings Corner Road in the Township of Sumpter for a reported out of control 10-acre prescribed burn.
