Media: 250 companies will not pay almost 40 million euros in income tax to the Lithuanian budget

Due to the fact that Lithuania did not transpose the European directive on the minimum income tax into national legislation, 250 large Lithuanian companies will not pay almost 40 million euros to the country's budget last year, Verslo žinios reports.

The authorities intend to further increase the corporate tax rate and do not bother at all to collect tens of millions of euros from large state-owned and international groups of companies into the Lithuanian budget, even though Lithuania has such a right under the EU's Pillar Two Directive.
