DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- A dead bat has tested positive for rabies in Houston County. Representatives with the Houston County Health Department tell WDHN the bat was found on the back porch of a home on Elm Street, north of Cottonwood. Pet dog tests positive for rabies in Pike County
State health officials say a pet dog tested positive for rabies earlier this month in Pike County. The Alabama Department of Public Health confirms that a bulldog was in Pike County near County Road 7708. The dog’s owner reported that the bulldog was acting aggressively toward other animals and the owner, so the owner called Troy Animal Control.
