Vaccination has saved 154 million lives in the world over the past five decades and in the same period infant mortality fell 41 percent in the Americas, said the director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Jarbas Barbosa, on the eve of the start of the Vaccination Week promoted by that organization.
