Reporters without borders: the EU is inert towards the repression of journalism in Serbia

The non-governmental organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) today criticized the European Union for failing to act while journalists in Serbia are systematically repressed. It called on the European Parliament to ensure that the European Commission takes responsibility for serious violations of media freedom in Serbia, which it should respect if it wants to become an EU member.

The international organization "Reporters without Borders" (RSF) announced today that EU political officials are "inert in the face of systematic repression of journalism in Serbia" which is under threat of political and judicial pressure, and "the EU can no longer look away".
