Republic of Moldova commemorates victims of the 1946–1947 Famine // Exhibition inaugurated in front of the Government

On the third Saturday of April, the Republic of Moldova commemorates the victims of the famine of 1946–1947. The country's leadership has sent messages stating that this tragedy has been passed over in silence, the collective memory cannot be erased, and the truth must be told.

A commemorative exhibition on the 1946–1947 Famine, a cataclysm caused by the Soviet regime that killed about 123,000 people and left another 400,000 severely malnourished, was opened in front of the Government. The event is organized in partnership with the National Archives Agency. The exhibition was launched by the Government, in collaboration with the National Archives Agency, in the Grand National Assembly Square in the capital.
