RESEARCH. Noise pollution at the A12 viaduct in Wilrijk where every passing truck sounds like a chainsaw: “You can’t have a nice time here, opening the windows is not an option”

Summary by Gazet Van Antwerpen
The viaduct on the A12 in Wilrijk causes the most noise pollution of all regional roads in Flanders. This was recently confirmed by Flemish Minister of Mobility Annick De Ridder (N-VA) after a parliamentary question by Anke Van dermeersch (Vlaams Belang). We went out with a decibel meter and found that a passing truck sounds as loud as a screeching chainsaw.
