General practitioners want to expand preventive check-ups. According to a draft decree submitted to the Minister of Health, Vlastimil Válka (TOP 09), they would like to perform some examinations on younger patients than before - especially those that can detect heart and vascular diseases. They are the most common cause of death in the Czech Republic, with forty thousand people dying from them every year.
