Transport Minister Martin Kupka (ODS) strongly rejects the European Commission's proposal for annual technical inspections of cars older than ten years. He called it a bureaucratic whip and an unnecessary burden for citizens. According to him, the government of Petr Fiala (ODS) will actively oppose this change.

Once a year, according to the EU plan, all cars that have their tenth birthday behind them will soon have to undergo technical inspection in Germany for the first time after 36 months, after which the check-up is scheduled to take place every 24 months.
