At the entrance of a social consultation meeting, the CAP president expressed concern about the “wave of tariffs” announced by the North American administration, pointing out that it will have “a major impact on the global economy”, starting with “the growth, or the lower growth, of the global economy”. Regarding the agriculture sector, Álvaro Mendonça e Moura stresses that Portugal exports “around 100 million euros of wine to the United States”…

The governor of Banco de Portugal pointed out that the tariffs are particularly harmful because “they act at all stages of production, they do not only affect final consumption”, since the international economy is integrated and “the products are traded at different stages”.
