Revelstoke's first career female firefighter inspiring next generation of women

Devon King has become Revelstoke's first career female firefighter, officially starting her role on New Year's Eve after being promoted last November.
The fire service in Revelstoke now includes eight career firefighters who work alongside 21 volunteers and some administrative staff.
King expressed her excitement about the role, stating, 'It's a huge responsibility and a huge privilege' to serve as a role model in the community.
Revelstoke Fire Chief Steven Derousie noted the increasing presence of women in firefighting and expressed excitement about King's hiring.
