On Trump’s 10% tariff, only Business Daily did in-depth analysis

Summary
The week US President Donard Trump attempted to tear the world apart with sweeping trade tarriffs, most Kenyan media penned surprisingly shallow journalism. Only the Business Daily hit the bar with in-depth analysis. Here is our ranking, from shallow to great: ●          The Standard – “Blow to local producers as Trump slaps 10pc tariffs on Kenyan goods” The April 3 story by Brian Ngugi first hit you with no context. USA slapped tariffs on Kenya. Why? And why would Trump pick a fight with Kenya, of all countries? These would be the questions off the top of your head. The Standard did not bother to tell you quickly a small detail. That Trump did this practically worldwide, including 50 African nations – and that Kenya was among those that got off lightly with only 10 per cent. The writer forgot to tell you that counties like Lesotho, which Trump ridiculed in March as a country “nobody has ever heard of”, got hammered with a staggering 50 per cent tariff, according to Reuters.
