Ruri Takahashi wins first Japanese heavyweight gold in 10 years in Baku

Summary by Judo Inside
The last women's final of the tournament saw Hilal Ozturk face Ruri Takahashi. Takahashi scored the first yuko with an o-soto-gari coming from afar. She continued on the floor to control her opponent and pin her down for ippon; simple and effective for another win for Japan and the first gold in a grand slam for Ruri Takahashi. The last Japanese heavyweight to win was Kanae Yamabe in 2016.
