Salaries rise in healthcare management

The CEOs of the health network have been informed that they will not have all the money they need for their institutions.

Their payroll has almost doubled since Minister Dubé's reform, from $3.7 million to $7 million.

The payroll of the senior executives of Santé Québec and the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) has almost doubled since the reform of Minister Christian Dubé, despite recent adjustments.

The last ten years have been favourable in terms of salary increases for nurses, midwives, radiology nurses and biomedical analysts. Yet these are still professions in short supply. “In a market with a dominant employer, salaries can be kept at an artificially low level,” says Professor Per Skedinger, whose analysis is that the increase has not been sufficient to attract workers.
