Social security: Are guide dogs reimbursed like medicines?

As we celebrate the International Day of Guide Dogs on Saturday 26 April, it is important to remember how much these animals are true allies of everyday life for blind people. Yet, behind their reassuring presence and efficiency, there is a considerable cost: raising and training a guide dog represents an average expenditure of between 25 000 euros and 42 000 euros according to some specialized schools.
