The Spanish government plans to impose the same high taxes on short-term accommodation operators as hotels in Spain, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said, as part of measures to improve housing affordability. The government wants to strengthen social rents, increase public housing construction and limit the ability of foreigners from outside the European Union to buy property in Spain.
