Despite having officially banned the cultivation of palm oil in 2021 due to the consequences on the environment, large companies engaged in this market continue their activities in the country where the consumption of this ingredient remains high. The measure ends up discouraging the introduction of new varieties of plants that, having a more limited impact on water resources, could represent a solution to the problem.
