SZS will submit a candidacy for the 2031 Nordic Skiing World Championships in Planica

After a thorough analysis, the Executive Board of the Ski Association of Slovenia has made a unanimous decision to officially include the SZS in the new candidacy cycle for the organization of the Nordic Skiing World Championships in 2031.

The Slovenian Ski Association (SZS) has announced significant changes in the management of alpine skiing ahead of the new competition season. Head of the branch Matjaž Šarabon confirmed that the cooperation with the women's team coaches, Mitje Kunec and Denis Šteharnik, will not be extended. At the same time, he highlighted the need for greater investment in youth programs and finding new approaches to improve the results of Slovenian skiers.

The Executive Board of the Ski Federation of Slovenia (SZS), after a thorough analysis and prepared documentation, made a unanimous decision to officially include the SZS in the new cycle of candidacy for the organization of the Nordic Ski World Championship 2031, the SZS said in a press release.
