Holcim in decline in the first quarter, with a decrease of 0.8% in its turnover

Repressed by adverse weather conditions in North America, construction materials giant Holcim experienced a 0.8% decrease in sales in the first quarter of 2025, a result far from surprise for analysts.

Holcim has slowly started the new year. In the first quarter, the world's second largest building materials group had to accept a slight twist in sales and operating profit. The bad weather caused a decline in sales.

The bad weather at Holcim caused brake tracks at the start of the year: In January and February, sales in the USA cracked.

Holcim has entered 2025 with a positive outlook. While revenues were virtually unchanged year-on-year, the Zug-based building materials giant saw its recurring operating profit before interest and tax (EBIT) decline by 3.1% year-on-year to CHF 515 million.
