NAM must stop gas extraction near the Groningen village of Warffum as of 1 January and may only resume this once the extension of the permit has been definitively granted. This was reported by the State Supervision of Mines (SodM). Minister Sophie Hermans (Climate and Green Growth) recently took a draft decision to allow gas extraction in Warffum for another eight years, but interested parties can still object to this.
