New Hill Country state park taking shape after 1,100-acre purchase
In January 2025, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) announced that it acquired 2,020 acres of land in Burnet County and wanted to purchase 1,100 more crossing into Lampasas County for a new state park. Four months later, on April 21, it announced it has achieved that secondary purchase.
