Texas governor sending helicopters, 400 soldiers to border

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is sending 400 specially trained National Guard soldiers to the Rio Grande Valley to assist the Border Patrol.
The deployment will also include C-130 aircraft and Chinook helicopters to support the 4,200 National Guard soldiers already stationed at the border.
Approximately 1,500 active-duty personnel from the U.S. Army and Marine Corps are deploying to the southern border for enhanced detection and monitoring.
Governor Abbott stated that his operation led to an 87% reduction in illegal crossings along the Texas border.
