La Renfe postpones the launch of its train line between Toulouse and Barcelona accusing France of preventing the opening of its market

The threat has been high for several weeks. The Spanish railway company Renfe confirmed on 4 April 2025 the postponement of the traffic of its high-speed trains between Toulouse and Barcelona.

The launch of a TGV direct line between Toulouse and Barcelona, operated by Spain's Renfe, will not take place as scheduled on Monday, 7 April. The project is officially postponed.

The Spanish public company had announced in mid-October the launch, in the second quarter of 2025, of direct links between Barcelona and Toulouse.

The Spanish operator RENFE acknowledges that it is experiencing difficulties in the French state and has announced that it will not launch, for the time being, the railway route between Barcelona and Toulouse.
