The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has worsened its estimates for the Romanian economy's growth this year, from 3.3 percent forecast in October to 1.6 percent, according to the latest World Economic Outlook report, published Tuesday by the international financial institution.

Romania will have the second weakest economic growth in Europe and Central Asia this year, with only Moldova performing worse. However, it will overtake us in 2026, when we will be the laggards, alongside Russia and Belarus.
