Golani was a historian and biographer at Tel Aviv University. He specialized in the perspective of the Zionist-British connection during the Mandate period, and founded the Israeli Forum of Mandate Scholars. Just 7 months ago he received the President's Award. He was seriously injured in the incident and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
