At a historic funeral, thousands of faithful fired Pope Francis, the Jesuit who changed the Church

The Argentine had a historic funeral in front of more than 250,000 faithful. After the exequial mass, the body of Francis already rests in the Basilica of Santa Maria la Mayor.

The Catholic Church did not hold such an imposing and massive funeral since that of John Paul II. The greats of the world and hundreds of thousands of pilgrims have gathered on a sunny morning to bid farewell to Francis, a figure of historical dimensions that leaves a deep legacy and a succession full of challenges.
