Tourist paradise drowns in garbage. "Culture of disposable packaging"

Summary by Business Insider (Poland)
Everything in Indonesia is packaged in small bags. There’s a culture of disposable packaging. The country has some of the dirtiest rivers in the world, and Bali—known to the world as the island of the gods—is drowning in garbage. “What most people see as garbage, we see as value,” says Sam of the nonprofit Sungai Watch, which has cleaned up more than 2,000 tons of garbage in Bali and East Java. The waste is turned into chairs and sandals.
