On the night of April 04 to 05, a trans woman from Benin was murdered in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, a country where she had been living for 4 years after fleeing her native Benin. For Guadalupe Diakhoumpa (pseudonym), a Senegalese activist who has lived in Abidjan, her situation is indicative of an insidious homophobia that she has always perceived as “silent and dangerous in Côte d'Ivoire”, as she explained 2 years ago in our columns.
