Two dead, suspect in custody after shooting in South Pekin

A shooting at a South Pekin residence early Thursday morning killed two individuals. Tazewell County Sheriff's deputies have taken a suspect into custody.

UPDATED: Coroner identify victims in South Pekin double homicide

SOUTH PEKIN (WMBD) -- Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley has identified the two killed after a shooting in South Pekin on Thursday. Chase Rhodes, 21, of Pekin and Dawson Reese, 21, of rural Pekin were both pronounced dead on the scene, he said. Hanley initially responded to the scene near the 11000 block of Illinois Route 29 sometime after 4:44 a.m. on a report of two dead. Autopsies for both men will be performed on Friday.
