The ELIDA is a former fish and post cutter and was until a few years ago Germany's only mission ship. The ship was built in 1939 as a deep-sea fish cutter (ketsch with gaffed tack) in Norway at the Hollen Sogne shipyard. The cutter was in operation for many years in Iceland.
