Ultra-fast cancer treatments that could replace conventional radiation therapy

In a series of large underground caverns located on the outskirts of Geneva, Switzerland, experiments are being carried out which could one day lead to a new generation of radiotherapy apparatus. It is hoped that these devices will cure complex brain tumours, eliminate cancers that have metastasized in distant organs and generally limit the impact of cancer treatments on the human body.
