The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) system, operated by the US non-profit organization Mitre, is considered to be one of the most important pillars of the cybersecurity world. Now the CVE system seems to be under threat in existence. According to a letter from Yosry Barsoum, Vice President and Director of the Centre for Securing Homeland (CSH) at Mitre, the US government has not extended funding.
