Immigration and inflation were, according to polls, the most important topics at the Vienna municipal council election

According to a first trend forecast, the SPÖ has lost, the FPÖ has more than tripled its election result from 2020. The Greens are in third place, the ÖVP is losing significantly, the Neos are in fifth place despite slight gains. A coalition of SPÖ and Neos would thus no longer have a majority of mandates. A cooperation between SPÖ and ÖVP as well as between SPÖ and Grünen would go out.

According to a first trend forecast, despite losses, the SPÖ clearly reached first place in the Vienna elections, while the FPÖ was able to triple its result. There could be a new party in the city government.
