SUPERIOR, Wis.- Back on March 5th, UW-Superior announced that they were adding women’s lacrosse as a varsity sport. Fast forward to Friday, and they have their new conference. UWS will join the WIAC, who’s currently in their 4th season sponsoring the varsity sport. The Yellowjackets will be the 11th team in the conference and will begin play in 2027. The University of Wisconsin-Superior and Yellowjacket Athletics have announced the Yellowjacket women’s lacrosse program has been approved as an affiliate member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
